Lopers of the Week
Chris Deans
Men's Basketball
A senior reserve forward from Hemingford, Deans torched the nets over the weekend in Colorado to the tune of 49 points in 48 minutes.

In wins at UCCS and CSU-Pueblo, Deans had efforts of 24 and 27 points thanks to 73% (18 of 23) shooting from the field, including 12 of 14 three point shooting.

By making 12 triples in these games, Deans becomes just the ninth Loper to reach 150 made threes for a career (now 156).
Chase White
Wrestling
White, a freshman from Lincoln H.S., continues to impress during his redshirt season.

At 157 lbs., White is now 31-8 after going 4-0 to place first at last Saturday's York College Open.

In eight open tournaments this season, White has won three and placed in the top five in three others. His 31 wins include five falls, three majors and two tech falls.

Sara Wissing became the third Loper to qualify for the NCAA Division II Championships in 2010 (women's golf).
Softball

Cassie Keck socked 47 home runs between 2008-11, the second most in UNK history.

Baseball

The UNK Baseball Team reached the "Sweet 16" of the 2011 NCAA Division II Tournament.

Women's Basketball

UNK enters the 2011-12 season with 690 wins in program history. That includes a stretch of 230 victories between 1996-04, an average of 26 per season.
Wrestling

Travel Dlagnev, a two-time National Champion for the Lopers, will compete in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. Since leaving UNK in 2008, he has been one of the world's top freestyle heavyweights.

Volleyball

Sophmore middle blocker Haley Lake became the 6th Loper to earn 1st-Team AVCA All-American honors when she was voted to the 2011 team.

Men's Golf
Three Lopers on the Men's Golf Team placed in the top 35 of the 2010 Nebraska State Amateur Championships in Omaha.

Men's Basketball

Max Froehlich led the RMAC in assists per game in 2010 and again in 2011

Women's Cross Country

Kaci Lickteig, the only Loper woman to ever qualify for the Division II NCAA Cross Country Championships, qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials in the marathon.

Men's Tennis
William Jacome was the RMAC Player of the Year four straight seasons.
Soccer

Senior midfielder Morgan Abert earned 2011 Capital One/CoSIDA 3rd-Team All-American honors, becoming the first UNK Women's Soccer player to earn a national award. The program began in 2009.

Football
Senior QB Jake Spitzlberger was national finalist for the 2011 Harlon Hill Trophy, the Division II Heisman. Other Lopers to make the regional ballot were Doug Banks (1990), Mike Miller (2003), Richie Ross (2005) and Kyle Kaiser (2010).

Men's XC
Senir Al Sanabria became the first Loper to earn All-American honors in 17 years when he placed 39th at the 2011 NCAA Championships.
