Tourney Passes to Receive Gift
Kearney, Neb. –
The Nebraska-Kearney athletic department
announced today (Feb. 15th) that the first 500 fans purchasing tournament passes for
the 2008 Women’s Elite Eight will receive a special offer, courtesy of
the NCAA.
This year, the Elite Eight will be held March 26, 27 and 29th
(Wed, Thurs. & Sat.).
Those first 500 fans will receive a commemorative miniature replica of
the Health & Sports Center championship court (click

to see design; PDF file). This "mini-court" is
made of solid wood flooring material and is a great way to capture a
piece of Kearney and UNK history.
Tournament passes -- now on sale -- are $ 35.00 for adults and
$ 25.00 for seniors (age 60 +) and students. All seating for the
tournament is general admission.
Individual session passes will go on sale the day of the game. There
will be a total of four sessions in the tournament. Per session tickets
will be $ 10.00 (adults) and $ 8.00 (students/seniors).
After a successful debut in 2007, the Elite Eight will be in Kearney for
the final time. In 2009 and again in 2010, the event will be held in St.
Joseph, Mo., and hosted by Missouri Western State University.
The 64-team NCAA Division II women's tournament begins at eight region
sites on March 14th. The winner of each region then advances to the
Elite Eight.
Like last season, the semi-finals and national championship game will be
carried live by the ESPN family of networks. Southern Connecticut
State won the 2007 national title with a 61-45 win over Florida Gulf
Coast.
