Grant Mollring is in his second year as a UNK assistant coach. After serving as a graduate assistant in 2007, the Cambridge native was elevated to full-time status in the summer of 2008. This year, he'll lead the UNK receivers. In 2007, Mollring led the Loper running backs and saw Jake Richards and Brendan Liess combine for 10 rushing TD's and nearly 125 yards per game. Prior to UNK, Mollring was an assistant football coach at Kearney High School, for four years, and also served as head football basketball coach at Eustis-Farnam High. At Eustis-Farnam, he also was an assistant track coach and a Physical Education teacher. Mollring graduated in 2003 from UNK with a degree in Physical Eucation and Western Civilizations. He currently is working towards a Master's degree in P.E./Sports Administration. In his prep days, he earned all-state honors as an offensive linemen. He also helped Cambridge high win three Class C2 state titles. Football coaching is in the Mollring family as Grant's father, Jeff, is the defensive coordinator at McCook High School with a brother, Scott, serving as the Shelton High School head football coach. Mollring lives in Kearney with wife Mandi. |
