Street & Smith's Tabs Football

Lopers Ranked 17th in Preseason Poll

Kearney, NE - The Nebraska-Kearney football team is ranked 17th in Street & Smith's preseason Division II Top 25 poll. The poll is part of the Street & Smith's 2002 season preview which went on sale just last week. This is the first preseason rankings in Division II.

UNK, which received a small write up on page135 of the magazine, is one of six teams from the West Region in the poll. Chadron State, coming in at No. 12, is the only other RMAC to be ranked.

The Lopers return 15 starters and 34 letterwinners from last year's team that went 8-2 and 7-1 in the RMAC. UNK begins its season August 29th (Thursday) at rival UNO.
