Ross Honored AgainNamed 2nd-team All-American Kearney, NE – For the second time this year, Nebraska-Kearney sophomore wide receiver Richie Ross has been named an All-American. The Lincoln native has earned second-team honors on the Daktronics Division II All-American team. This team is selected by a vote of sports information directors from NCAA Division II football playing members. In late December, D2football.com named Ross a first-team All-American. Ross was one of only four underclassmen to make the Daktroncis team. In addition, he joined Chadron State senior cornerback Marvin Jackson as the only RMAC players on the squad. The first-team receivers were junior Ellis Debrow of Delta State (Miss.) and junior Antonio Carter of Glenville State (W.V). Senior Kevin Wolcott of Tusculum College (Tenn.) joined Ross on the second team. The RMAC Offensive Player of the Year, Ross caught 75 balls for a school-record 1,482 yards and 11 TD’s in 2003. His per game average of 148.2 ranked second in the nation behind Debrow (148.8). In two years, the Lincoln High grad has 131 receptions for 2,624 yards and 21 TD’s. |
