Follett Takes I-AA Job

Lopers Wide Receiver Coach

Kearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney head football coach Darrell Morris announced today that wide receivers coach Andy Follett is leaving UNK to take the same position at I-AA Southwest Missouri State.

Follett, a Fremont native, leaves for SMS this week. The Bears, a member of the Gateway Conference, went 4-7 (1-6 GC) last fall.

In December, offensive coordinator/QB's coach Nate Kaczor left the Lopers for I-A Idaho. Russ Martin recently replaced Kaczor.

Follett was UNK's wide receivers coach the past five years. Seven of his receivers earned All-RMAC recognition with three earning all-region accolades. In addition, Trevor Weston (2000) and Richie Ross (2003) earned All-American honors.

His receivers also helped break or tie 20 school records in the past five seasons with Follett having coached four players currently in the UNK career top 10 in receiving yards and receptions.

A 1998 graduate of Wayne State, Follett was a graduate assistant at St. Cloud State in Minnesota prior to coming to UNK.

Morris hopes to have the position filled as soon as possible.
