Miller Named Preseason All-AmericanOne of Nine RMAC Players Selected Kearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney junior running back Mike Miller has been named a preseason All-American by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette. A total of 100 players – 50 offense and 50 defense – representing all four geographic regions of NCAA Division II were named to the team. A total of 66 schools had at least one player on the squad. This is the 16th year the Football Gazette has selected NCAA Division II All-Americans and preseason All-Americans. Miller (5-10, 190 lbs.), from Littleton, Colo., is coming off a year in which he set new school records for yards (1,600) and carries (333) in a season. He ranked fourth in the nation in yards per game (145.5) and has led the RMAC in rushing each of the past two years. Finally, Miller needs 282 yards to become UNK’s all-time leading rusher. Larry Jacobsen (1957-59) currently holds the mark with 2,982 yards. Eight other RMAC players made the team. They were Andrew Webb (QB) and Chris Brewer (WR) from Fort Lewis, Grant Newton (CB) and Johnny Chan (return specialist) from Colorado School of Mines and Casey Haldeman (DL) and Marvin Jackson (DB) from Chadron State and John Quinn (DL) and Jeff Williams (P) from Adams State. |
