Kearney, NE –
Nebraska-Kearney head football coach Darrell Morris announced today
that 15 high school seniors, and three transfers, have joined the Lopers.
Morris will announce the addition of more players in the coming weeks.
With
only six seniors on the 2003 roster, Morris and his staff didn't have a
lot of space for a big freshmen class.
"This is a very good class for us and I commend the coaching staff for
working hard and getting such a class without a lot of scholarship money
available," Morris said. "We believe we have some superior football
players joining our program."
The
class includes eight Nebraska natives and seven offensive linemen.
Last year, UNK went 5-5 (4-4 RMAC) and had the third ranked
offense in the country at 506.2 yards per game.
