Football to Play 11^th Game in 2004

Lopers to Visit Northern Sun Member

            Kearney, NE – For the first time since 1998, the Nebraska-Kearney football team will play an 11^th game. In addition to its traditional non-RMAC games against in-state rivals Nebraska-Omaha and Wayne State, UNK will play at Northern State September 11^th. (Complete 2004 Schedule)

            The Wolves are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the same league that Wayne calls home. Northern went 7-4 in 2003 and placed fourth in the NSIC (5-3). 

            NSU averaged 41.5 points per game last year and features QB Toby Korrodi, who threw for 36 TD's and averaged 320.7 passing yards per game as a redshirt freshman last year.

            UNK has a commanding lead in the series, 16-6-1, and has beaten NSU the last five times the two have played (1991-95).

            Northern will return the favor and play at UNK in the fall of 2005.
