Football to Play 11th Game in 2004Lopers to Visit Northern Sun Member Kearney, NE – For the first time since 1998, the Nebraska-Kearney football team will play an 11th game. In addition to its traditional non-RMAC games against in-state rivals Nebraska-Omaha and Wayne State, UNK will play at Northern State September 11th. (Complete 2004 Schedule) The Wolves are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the same league that Wayne calls home. Northern went 7-4 in 2003 and placed fourth in the NSIC (5-3). NSU averaged 41.5 points per game last year and features QB Toby Korrodi, who threw for 36 TD's and averaged 320.7 passing yards per game as a redshirt freshman last year. UNK has a commanding lead in the series, 16-6-1, and has beaten NSU the last five times the two have played (1991-95). Northern will return the favor and play at UNK in the fall of 2005. |
