Football Adds Transfer

Played I-AA Ball Last Year

Kearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney head football coach Darrell Morris announced today that Kendrick Percell has transferred to UNK and will play for the Lopers this year.

The 5-11, 180 lbs., cornerback played the past two years at I-AA Southeast Missouri State. UNK’s new offensive coordinator/QB’s coach, Russ Martin, was an assistant coach at SEMO the past four years.

Percell, of Carol City, Fla., appeared in 19 of the 24 games that the Indians played the past two years. He made 38 tackles (35 solo) and had two interceptions, for 33 yards, in his SEMO career.

At American High School, Percell earned the “Little Heisman” Award for outstanding play his senior season. A four-year starter, he also earned All-Dade County honors his senior season. Finally, Percell was in the top three percent of his graduating class.

Percell joins an experienced group of corners as UNK returns six letterwinners at that position, including starters Deano Korecky (Northglenn, Colo.) and Clay Mankin (Aurora).

The Lopers began the 2004 season August 28th at UNO.
