Center Named to All-Region Team

One of 21 from RMAC Selected

Kearney, Neb. Nebraska-Kearney sophomore center Jack Hiett was recently named to the 2007 Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Southwest Region team.

This marks the sixth year the Football Gazette has selected NCAA Division II all-region teams. The national publication has chosen Division II All-American teams since 1998.

Hiett (Arvada, Colo.) made the third-team and was one of only nine underclassmen selected to the Southwest squad. Overall, 93 different players earned All-Southwest honors with 21 coming from the RMAC.

Other conferences in the region are the Lone Star and MIAA.

A team co-captain in 2007, Hiett has been UNK's starting center the past two years. One of the strongest players on the team, he was named the 2006 RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year and was chosen first-team All-RMAC this fall.

His play helped UNK rank second in the RMAC in points (33.9) and yards per game (388.9) in 2007.
