Kearney, Neb. –  Nebraska-Kearney senior Tyler McNitt will have a chance to tryout for the Minnesota Vikings and report to rookie mini-camp tomorrow (May 1st).

The 6-4, 230 lbs., McNitt (Kearney H.S.) is considered a tight end/h-back/fullback prospect in the NFL.

In four years at UNK, McNitt caught 113 passes for 1,647 yards and 18 TD's. Playing receiver and h-back, he averaged 14.58 yards per catch over his career and was a 2007 All-RMAC selection.

This past November, he played in the East Coast Bowl in Virginia, an all-star game for non-Division I seniors.

Other Lopers to have recently spent time in NFL camps include Ryan Bachman (OL/Houston Texans), Joel Jacobs (TE/St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots) and Richie Ross (WR/Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans).

Ross, after suffering a serious injury last spring, is hoping to catch on with another NFL team this year.
