McNitt Signs on with MinnesotaFourth Loper to Reach an NFL Camp in 2000's
Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney senior Tyler McNitt will have a chance to tryout for the Minnesota Vikings and report to rookie mini-camp tomorrow (May 1st).
The 6-4, 230 lbs., McNitt (Kearney H.S.) is considered a tight
end/h-back/fullback prospect in the NFL.
In four years at UNK, McNitt caught 113 passes for 1,647 yards and 18 TD's. Playing receiver and h-back, he averaged 14.58 yards per catch over his career and was a 2007 All-RMAC selection. This past November, he played in the East Coast Bowl in Virginia, an all-star game for non-Division I seniors. Other Lopers to have recently spent time in NFL camps include Ryan Bachman (OL/Houston Texans), Joel Jacobs (TE/St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots) and Richie Ross (WR/Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans).
Ross, after suffering a serious injury last spring, is hoping to catch
on with another NFL team this year.
