A former Loper player, John Webber is in his third year as a UNK assistant coach.

After volunteering his time during the 2006-07 season, he replaced Nate Mohs as the program’s graduate assistant coach in 2008.

A native of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Webber played two years for the Lopers. He also played at Division II Alaska-Anchorage and spent one year at Westark J.C. in Arkansas.

For UNK, he was a two-time All-RMAC selection who helped the 2000-01 team posted a 22-6 record and reach the finals of the RMAC Tournament.  His 148 made three pointers currently ranks as the sixth most in UNK history.

After graduating from UNK, Webber was an assistant coach at a junior college in Kentucky.

Webber is married to Lee Ramey, a Kearney native and former Loper women’s basketball player. They live in Kearney with their two children.
