Men’s Basketball Schedule ReleasedLopers to Play Colorado State in Exhibition Kearney, NE – The Nebraska-Kearney men’s basketball team, coming off a school-record 30-3 record, will begin the 2003-04 season November 25th at home against Peru State. Prior to that game, UNK will play two exhibition games, its annual affair against Dreambuilders (November 8th) and then at Division I Colorado State (November 12th). The Rams posted a 19-14 record last year, including a 14-5 mark in the Mountain West Conference. CSU also lost to Duke in the first round of the NCAA’s, 67-57. Two years ago in an exhibition game, UNK lost at Nebraska, 58-55. In addition to 10 RMAC home contests, the Lopers will also host Doane College (December 15th) and Morningside College (January 19th). UNK plays its three in-state rivals – Hastings, UNO and Wayne State – all on the road. The Lopers also play in a tournament in Omaha, where they will take on Concordia-St. Paul, a NCAA Division II school, and Bellevue. Head coach Tom Kropp has three starters and seven letterwinners back from last year's record setting team. North Platte senior forward Nick Branting and Grand Island senior guard Brian Dunagan are the Lopers returning with All-RMAC honors. |
