Branting Picks Up 2nd Player of the Year Award

Senior Honored Again

            Kearney, NE – North Platte senior forward Nick Branting was named the 2004 Division II Bulletin Player of the Year, the publication announced today.

            Branting averaged 22.3 points and 7.4 rebounds a game for the Lopers, who advanced to the North Central regional final. He was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was a Daktronics All-American.

            He also was named the Daktronics Division II Player of the Year.

            “Nick had a great year for his team and based on his accomplishments and statistics he is very deserving of this award,” said DIIB Editor Gary Rubin. “There were many qualified candidates for this award but Nick proved with his play that he was the top choice.”

            The 2004 All-American teams were published in the Division II Bulletin Postseason Issue, which was released on March 31, 2004.

            Division II Bulletin, published since 1991, is the leading publication covering men's Division II basketball. It comes out 12 times during the basketball season.
