Men's Basketball Has Three on RMAC TeamJura Makes First Squad Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball team has placed three players on the 2005 All-RMAC team. Sophomore forward Dusty Jura (Columbus) earns 1st-team All-RMAC honors along with 1st-team East Division accolades. The RMAC names separate teams for the East and West Divisions and then top five players from the entire league make the All-RMAC first-team. Senior guard Marty Levinson (Bellevue) earned 2nd-team East Division honors while senior Will Taukiuvea (Salt Lake City, Utah) earned honorable mention East Division honors. Metro senior forward Mart Worthington earned Player of the Year honors after averaging 19.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Jura, the 2004 RMAC Freshman of the Year, leads the Lopers in scoring (17.2), rebounding (7.9), steals (2.6) and blocks (17) while shooting a team-best 60.6 percent from the field. In the RMAC, he ranks first in steals, third in rebounding and sixth in scoring. The southpaw is the only non-senior to make the league's first team. Levinson, coming off a redshirt season, is averaging 15.9 points and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 42 percent from the three point line. He is leading the Lopers in assists (3.7) and threes made (61) and is second in scoring. Taukiuvea, who earned 2nd-team East Division honors last year, is averaging 13.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. UNK (23-5) plays Mesa State (19-7) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CST in Colorado Springs. |
