Only Underclassmen on Team

Kearney, Neb. –   Sophomore forward Dusty Jura has earned Daktronics All-North Central Region honors.

The team is selected by the region's sports information directors.

Jura (Columbus) was one of four RMAC players to make either the first or second team. He has the distinction of being the only underclassmen on the squad.

In the RMAC, he ranks first in steals, second in rebounding and is fourth in scoring.

Jura is joined on the second team by guard Matt Vaughn of Colorado Christian, Nate Miller of St. Cloud State, Josh Mueller of South Dakota and Todd Rypkema of North Dakota.

Making up the first team are Colorado School of Mines guard Stephen Bahl, Metro State forward Mark Worthington, Minnesota State-Mankato forward Jamel Staten, Northern State forward Mark Hammer and South Dakota forward Turner Trofholz.

Bahl, averaging 21.5 points per game, was named the region's Player of the Year.

The 10-player team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing, and programmable play systems for virtually every sport at every level of completion.

UNK (23-6) plays South Dakota (25-5) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday in Denver.
