Kropp Mentioned in Sports Illustrated

            Kearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney head men’s basketball coach Tom Kropp gets a brief mention in the latest issue of Sports Illustrated (Ken Griffey Jr. on the cover), which hit news stands last week.

            As part of its “50 States in 50 Weeks” series, Nebraska is the featured state this week. On page 38 as part of the “Who & Where” section, Kropp is mentioned along with other Nebraska notables such as Jay Novacek (Brady), Andy Roddick and Ahman Green (Omaha).

            The four-line bio for Kropp mentions him being drafted by the NFL, NBA and ABA, along with behind at successful head coach at UNK for the last 14 years.

            This is the second time in the last four years Kropp has made into the pages of the national magazine. Back in 2000, Kropp was named one of Nebraska’s 50 greatest athletes of the 20^th century.
