Men’s Basketball Wins 9th Straight

Lopers Whip Winless Grizzlies

      Kearney, Neb. –   All eleven Nebraska-Kearney men's basketball players scored in a 86-54 rout of Adams State Friday night at the Health & Sports Center.

      UNK improves to 9-2 (4-0 RMAC) on the year while Adams (0-13, 0-5 RMAC) remains winless in 2004-05.

      The Lopers jetted out to a 13-2 lead and never looked back in beating Adams for the 16th straight time.

      The blue and gold dominated in all phases of the game, getting more offensive rebounds (19) then Adams had total rebounds (16) and almost making as many field goals (31) as the Grizzlies attempted (40).

      Five players were in double figures, led by Bellevue senior Marty Levinson with 16. He had 11 points in the second half and also grabbed five rebounds in the game.

      Columbus sophomore Dusty Jura had 12 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes while Colorado sophomore Chad Burger came off the bench to score 12 points, get a team-high nine rebounds (six offensive) and hand out four assists.

      Also, Ogalalla freshman reserve Nick Morrell had 11 points and Utah senior Will Taukiuvea had 10 points, seven coming on the game's first four minutes.

      David Mitchell had 11 of his team-high 15 points in the second half.

            UNK hosts Fort Lewis tomorrow.
