Men's Golf Shoots Season Low at Fort LewisBednar Ties for 7th PlaceTeam/Player Results .... Course Stats ... Team Scores
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney men's golf team shot a season-low 891 and tied for fourth place at the 2008 RMAC Championships in Durango, Colo. The two-day tournament was played at the par 71 Hillcrest Golf Course. UNK had rounds of 293 and 302 on Monday to sit in sixth place. On Tuesday, the Lopers shot a 296 to pass Colorado State-Pueblo (893) and tie Regis for fourth. Colorado-Colorado Springs won the tournament (858) with Fort Lewis the runner up (863) and Western New Mexico third (870). South Dakota junior Andy Bednar led the Lopers with a four over par 217 (71-75-71), good for seventh place tie. He had the second most birdies in the tournament (11) and had the field's best score on par three holes (2.92). Luke Tanner of Fort Lewis shot a first round 66 and won the tournament with an even par 213. Also for UNK, Gering sophomore Max Hadenfeldt finished in 20th place (224), Kearney sophomore Alex Farrell was one place back with a 225, Ord sophomore Devon Kastler tied for 28th (228) and Broken Bow junior Preston Foster tied for 36th (233). Farrell led the Lopers in pars (36) while Hadenfeldt recorded a rare eagle on Monday. UNK finishes the regular season early next week in Parker, Colo., at the Northwest Region Head-to-Head tournament. | ||
