Men's Golf Finishes 15th Place at UCO

Spring Opener

    Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney  men's golf team began the spring season by shooting a 933 and placing 15th at the UCO/Kickingbird Classic in Edmond, Okla.

      The two-day tournament, hosted by Central Oklahoma, was held Monday and Tuesday (March 24-25) at the par 70 Kickingbird Golf Course

      The Lopers had rounds of 301, 317 and 315. Midwestern State of Texas and the host Bronchos each shot an 870 but UCO won the team title on a playoff hole.

      Ord sophomore Devon Kastler and Broken Bow junior Preston Foster paced the Loper attack, each firing a 232 to tie for 52nd place.

      A total of seven strokes would separate all five UNK golfers. South Dakota junior Andy Bednar tied for 63rd (234), Kearney sophomore Alex Farrell tied for 67th (236) and Gering sophomore Max Hadenfeldt tied for 75th place (239).

      UCO's Colby Shrum placed first with a one over par 211.

      UNK heads to Arizona on March 31- April 1st for the Grand Canyon U. Invite.
