Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming & diving team scored 197 points to place 8th at the 2010 RMAC Championships in Arvada, Colo.
The three-day event was hosted by Colorado Mines at the George Myers Pool.
Incarnate Word of Texas claimed the women's title by scoring 896 points with Minnesota State-Moorhead runner up (768.50). UIW also won the men's race (1,073 points).
UIW, Moorhead, Northern State, Grand Canyon (Ariz.) and Texas-Permian Basin are all affiliate members of the RMAC in swimming & diving.
In the pool for UNK, freshman
Cidnee Maggart (Ammon, Idaho) scored three team points when she placed 14th in the 1,000 free (11:43.49).
UNK would tally a total of 27 points in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Freshman
Brianna Nelsen (Lincoln) and sophomores
Heather Glodt (Oberlin, Kans.) and
Abby Jones (Monticello, Minn.) went 12-14 in the 100 and then finished 11-13 in the 200.
Nelsen led the way in the 100 breast (1:12.58) with Glodt having the top time in the 200 (2:39.82).
In diving, sophomore
Jourdan McKevery tallied 11 points with a 8th place finish on the 3-meter board (322.85). On Thursday, she was 7th on the 1-meter board.
