Dane Tobey has been chosen as the 2010 Central Region Outdoor Male Field Athlete of the Year by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association).
A junior eligibility wise during the outdoor season, Tobey (Waco) enters this weekend's NCAA Championships as the nation's leader in the discus (186-10) while also ranking third in the shot (61-0.25).
Showing his versatility, he also scored in both the hammer and javelin at the RMAC Championships, helping UNK win its first-ever outdoor team title.
