Bears Swim past UNK

Northern Colorado Too Much for Aqualopers

Kearney, NE – The Northern Colorado Bears won all but one event in a 220-51 dual victory over the Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming and diving team Friday night at Cushing Pool.

UNK drops to 1-4 on the year while UNC improves to 6-3.

Seven different Bears won at least one event and then UNC swept both relay events. The Aqualopers got a first place finish from sophomore diver Jennifer Attrebury (Haysville, Kans.), who scored 231.30 points on the three meter board.

Sophomores Jesslyn Hackman (Lakewood, Colo.) and Jillian Woltman (Lousville, Colo.) both placed third in two different events. Hachman was third in the 100 free (59.93) and 100 backstroke (1:07.74) while Woltman earned the bronze in the 100 (1:18.18) and 200 breaststroke (2:50.90).

Also for UNK, Scottsbluff sophomore Becky Tompkins was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:48.98). She also had top five efforts in the 200 fly (2:43.37) and 200 I.M. (2:29.64).

UNK is off until the Central States Conference Championships in two weeks.
