UNO Swims Past UNK, 142-96Aqualopers Have Busy Weekend Kearney, NE – The Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming and diving team (1-3), after competing in the Grinnell Invite Friday and Saturday, fell to UNO, 142-96, in a dual Sunday afternoon in Omaha. UNK won seven events, led by sophomore diver Jennifer Attrebury. She placed first at one (269.30) and three meters (228.80). Also bringing home the gold were junior Kristina Jegel (200 I.M./2.35.61), sophomore Jillian Woltman (100 fly/1:12.41) and freshmen Becky Tompkins (200 backstroke/2:34.16) and Jen Morlock (500 free/6:03.55). The final Loper win came in the 200 free relay where Tompkins and Woltman joined sophomores Erin Kosmicki and sophomore Amanda Florence to swim a 1:59.50 Colorado sophomore Jesslyn Hackman, who qualified for three event finals at Grinnell, was runner up in both the 100 backstroke (1:08.65) and 100 fly (1:13.06). UNK hosts Northern Colorado January 30th then heads to Missouri for the Central States Conference meet in mid-February. |
