Mavericks Swim Past Aqualopers

Kirkland Sweeps Diving

      

      Kearney, Neb. –  The Nebraska-Kearney women's swimming & diving team completed it's home season with a 126-64 dual loss to Nebraska-Omaha Saturday afternoon in Cushing Pool.

      UNK is now 2-8-1 on the season.

      Kearney junior diver Jennifer Kirkland paced the Aqualopers as she placed first on both the one meter (238.80) and three meter (232.85) boards. Lincoln sophomore Annie Moyer was runner up in each, scoring 199.30 (one) and 222.00 (three).

      This pair had already qualified for the NCAA Championships this March in Missouri.

      In the pool, Omaha freshman Kari Weihl placed third in the 1,000 freestyle (11:53.98) with Missouri freshman  Rachael Cochran coming in second in the 50 freestyle (28.14).

      Finally, Wayne freshman Regan Ruhl was fourth in both the 200 free (2:20.88) and 100 butterfly (1:14.13).

      UNK finishes the regular season with the first annual RMAC Invitational Feb. 14-16 in Golden, Colo.
