Luke Mosey recently completed his second season as head cross country coach at Nebraska-Kearney.

This fall, Mosey saw a young women's team crack the North Central Regional rankings. Newcomer Kaci Lickteig led the way and became the first UNK female to qualify for the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. She finished in 39th place, just a second away from earning All-American status.

The men's team, also loaded with underclassmen, placed 13th out of 20 teams at the North Central Regional meet.

In the winter and spring, Mosey is an assistant track coaching, leading the Loper sprinters and distance runners.

For the 2005-06 track season, senior sprinter Randi Furman-Kuhn set several school records and was a national qualifier in both the indoor (60m) and outdoor (100m) seasons. In distance events, Jacquelyn Dibbern was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championships.

Prior to UNK, he was the assistant track coach at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School (Minn.) where the boys team won its first-ever state title in the spring of 2004.

For the North Dakota State Bison, Mosey won eight North Central Conference (NCC) titles and earned Division II All-American honors four times. He ran on the 2003 Bison 4 x 400 relay team that placed second (outdoors) and third (indoors) at the NCAA Division II Championships.

A 2003 graduate of NDSU, the Minnesota native is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sports Administration. He and his wife, Shanda, live in Kearney with their daughter.
