Qualifiers for NCAA's

Four Men, Four Women

Kearney, NE – The University of Nebraska at Kearney outdoor track team will send eight student-athletes to the NCAA Division II Championships, held May 24-26 at Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville.

Qualifying for the event are seniors Ryan Bedlan (Shickley), Janet Boettcher (Scotia), Joe Cooper (Big Springs), Wes Hinze (Albion) and Joel Janecek (Gering). The others to make it are juniors Karen Koch (Omaha), Korina Hunter (Agra, Kan.) and Leah Lewis (Kearney).

Boettcher is the defending national champion in the hammer throw, having won the event with a toss of 189-1. In her track career, she has earned All-American honors 11 times.

Janecek is the other returning All-American. Last year in North Carolina, he was sixth in the 110-high hurdles.
