Men's 4 X 100 Relay Team Also Going to Texas
Kearney, NE - The University of Nebraska at Kearney outdoor track team will send seven student-athletes and one relay team to the NCAA Division II Championships May 23-25 in San Angelo, Texas.
Qualifying for the meet are senior Leah Lewis (Kearney), junior Dave Smith (Arnold), sophomores Derek Frese (Bancroft), Scott Jorgensen (Grand Island), John Laux (Lexington), Scott Schukar (Loomis), and freshman Allen Burrell (Aurora, Colo.).
Burrell and Schukar are also on the 4 x 100 relay team that qualified as well. Joining them on that team are sophomores Garth Mins (Lexington) and Clark Spanel (Grand Island).
This marks the third year in a row Lewis has qualified in the triple jump. All the Lopers are making their first trip ever to the NCAA's.
A top eight finish at the meet is good for All-American honors.
