Laux Earns Scholarship AwardsFormer Track Standout Kearney, NE – Former Nebraska-Kearney track standout John Laux has been awarded degree completion scholarships from both the RMAC and NCAA. The Lexington native, who was a senior during the 2003-04 academic year, was one of 14 former student-athletes to be chosen for the RMAC award. For the NCAA scholarship, 98 scholarships were handed out with 48 different schools being presented. Each scholarship assists in the completion of degrees for student-athletes who’ve exhausted their eligibility. A Biology Comprehensive major with a wildlife emphasis, Laux has completed internships with a research biologist and two different Divisions of Game and Parks for Nebraska. In addition, Laux, who will graduate this December, is a member of the UNK Wildlife Society. On the track, Laux won seven RMAC titles in his career and earned All-American honors this year in the triple jump in the indoor and outdoor seasons.
