Six Lopers Qualify for NCAA Indoor ChampionshipsAt Minnesota State Next Weekend
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney track team will send four women and two men to the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships next weekend in Mankato, Minn. The two-day meet will be March 14-15 at the Myers Field House on the Minnesota State University campus. Qualifying for the big meet on jumpers Kelli Dring, Ross Fellows and Spencer Huff, thrower Julie Davis and distance runner Michelle Dill. Late this week, senior distance runner Jacquelyn Dibbern also got the call to go to Minnesota as a few qualifiers couldn't make the meet. Dibbern was a top alternate on the initial NCAA list. Dring makes the indoor meet for the third straight year and will try and earn her second indoor All-American honor. She placed fourth in the long jump as a freshman. Huff and Fellows return to the NCAA's and are aiming for their first All-American nod. Huff was ninth last year in the long jump with Fellows 10th in the triple jump. A top eight finish is good for All-American honors. This is the first time Dibbern & Dill have made an NCAA meet. UNK could've send two more to Minnesota but sophomore Brandon Karlin and freshman Jake Wissing were just outside the needed marks.
