Dill Leads Lopers at Kansas Relays

Four Lopers Compete Thursday; Two More Friday

      

     Kearney, Neb. Senior Michelle Dill led four Nebraska-Kearney Lopers at the 81st Annual Kansas Relays Thursday night in Lawrence, Kans.

      In the women's 1,500 meter run (unseeded), Dill ran a 4:44.87 to finish fifth in her heat and ninth overall. There were a total of 37 runners in this event with Dill (Imperial) coming in ahead of student-athletes from Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska and Wichita State.

      Kasey Kimball of Missouri won in a time of 4:41.41.

      At 5,000 meters, Dannebrog junior Kaci Lickteig finished 14th (18:22.06) in a field of 35 runners. On the men's side, Colorado senior Justin Zahller ran a 32:49.62 to be 21st in the 10,000 meter run while Kearney junior Rylan Little placed 31st, out of 73 runners, at 800 meters (1:58.36).

      On Friday, Jacquelyn Dibbern and Faith Maschmann (3,000 meter steeplechase) will represent UNK in the meet. The rest of the Lopers will be in Crete this weekend for the Doane Relays.
