Volleyball Has Two Selected All-RegionDaktronics Team
Kearney, Neb. – Sophomores Shannon Clausen and Nikki Scott represent the Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team on the 2007 Daktronics All-Southwest Region team. Sports information directors from within the region select the Daktronics all-region teams. First-team members move onto the national ballot and can earn All-American honors. This is the seventh year Daktronics has sponsored the Division II volleyball All-American and All-Region team. Clausen (Beatrice), at right side hitter, was selected to the first-team with Scott (Broken Bow), a middle hitter, making the second-team. Clausen joins Missy Obermeier, in 1996, as the only players to reach the following minimums in the same season; 225 kills, 225 digs, 75 blocks, 50 assists and 25 service aces. Currently, Clausen is at 1.99 kills (227), 2.11 digs (241), 0.70 blocks (80), 0.55 assists (63) and 0.25 aces (28) per game while hitting .314. Scott lead the Lopers in kills (3.76 pg/429) and attack percentage (.374) and is third in blocks (0.64 pg/73). She is among the RMAC leaders in both kills per game and attack percentage.
