Volleyball at Home Saturday12-Team Field; Lopers 10-1-1 So Far
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team will host its annual spring tournament this Saturday (April 26th) at the Health & Sports Center. Making up the 12-team field will be the Lopers, Fort Hays State, Hastings, Doane, two UNK Alumni squads and junior college teams from Western Nebraska, North Platte, McCook, Central, Cloud County (Kans.) and Northeastern (Colo.). Three courts will be used and the tournament will run from 10:00 a.m. to around 6:30 p.m. All matches will run no longer then 50 minutes with the first two games going to 25 points. No admission will be charged to watch the action. UNK will play at 10:00 a.m. (vs. Doane), 12:00 p.m. (vs. Hays), 2:30 p.m. (vs. Western Nebraska), 4:30 p.m. (vs. Northeastern) and, finally, at 6:30 p.m. against one of the alumni teams. So far this spring, the Lopers are 10-1-1. The team went 4-0 in tournaments in Omaha and Great Bend, Kan. (Barton County C.C.) while posting a 2-1-1 mark April 12th in Sioux Falls, S.D. Among the squads UNK has beaten this spring include Truman State, Central Missouri, NW Missouri State, Emporia State, Fort Hays State and Augustana. The complete scheduled can be found HERE. |
