Women's
Basketball Tabbed to
Finish First in RMAC
Kearney, NE – According to head coaches in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the upcoming basketball season should be a very good one for the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
In the annual preseason coaches polls, released yesterday, the UNK women, as usual, are picked first in the East Division and in the overall league race. The Lopers received all the first place votes for the East title (12 points) and nine of the 11 first place votes for the entire league championships.
UNK, which went 24-6 last year, has won four of the last five RMAC titles, including the past two.
On the men's side, the Lopers are right behind defending National Champion Metro State. UNK, which returns four starters from last year's 16-12 team, is second behind the Roadrunners in both the East and the overall race. UNK even received four first place votes.
Both teams are in action next week as the women travel to Colorado on November 2nd to tangle with the Buffaloes. The men host the Dreambuilders on November 3rd.|
