Kruger Records Third Straight Double Double
Kearney, NE - The Nebraska-Kearney women continued to roll through the RMAC defeating Colorado Mines 88-68 Saturday at the Health & Sports Center. With the win, the Lopers improve to 16-3 and11-0 in the RMAC. It also marks their 12th straight victory.
Junior Allison Kruger started the game off scoring ten of the Lopers first 12 points as they went on to a 41-25 lead at the half. Kruger ended up with a game high 29 points and ten rebounds, just two points shy of her career high of 31. That marks the third straight game where Kruger has recorded a double double as well as three of the last four.
Mines shot well in the second half to keep the game competitive. At one point, Mines cut the lead to ten, 69-59, with 5:19 left, but that was as close as they could get. The Lopers ended the game with a 19-9 run to seal the victory.
Freshman Kalee Modlin had another solid game, scoring 20 points and pulling down five rebounds. Junior Heather Stephen chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Anne Manning came off the bench notching nine points and six rebounds.
Colorado Mines was led by Katie Guadutis with 13 points.
The Lopers return to action with another home game Tuesday night as they take on Fort Hays State with a 6:00 p.m. tip off at the Health and Sports Center.
