Modlin Earns All-Region HonorsRepeats on Team Kearney, Neb. – Junior center Kalee Modlin has earned Daktronics All-North Central Region honors for the second straight year. The team is selected by the region's sports information directors. Modlin (Knoxville, Ia.) earns second-team honors once again. She joins Darcy Stracke, Beth Swift and Allison Kruger as the only Lopers to be named all-region more then once in a career. Despite playing with a back injury all year, Modlin led UNK in scoring (14.2), rebounding (7.6), steals (1.7) and blocks (31) while shooting a healthy 50 percent from the field. In the RMAC, she ranks seventh in scoring and rebounding and fifth in blocks. She is joined on the second team by three other RMAC players: Regis guard Diana Lopez, Fort Lewis center Amy Mohr and Adams State forward Megan Hoffman. Also on the second team is UNO forward J.J. Smith. No RMAC player earned first-team honors. Making up the first team were North Dakota forward Kristi Boese, SW Minnesota State guard Michelle Bruns, Minnesota-Duluth forward Lindsey Dietz, Concordia-St. Paul guard Jennifer Pozzani and St. Cloud State center Erika Quigley. Bruns and Dietz were named Co-Player of the Region. The 10-player team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing, and programmable play systems for virtually every sport at every level of completion. |
