Women's Basketball
Returns Tonight
Lopers
Host Peacocks
Kearney, Neb. – The
Nebraska-Kearney women's basketball team will host Upper Iowa tonight
night at 6:00 p.m. in the Health & Sports Center.
The Lopers (4-6, 3-0 RMAC), winners of three straight, haven't played
since December 18th, a break of 16 days. UIU, meanwhile, played Monday
at RMAC-member Colorado School of Mines and had two games last week.
The Peacocks (4-9) are in the process of moving from NAIA to Division II
and are 0-9 against Division II teams so far this season.
During its recent winning streak, UNK is allowing just 61.3 points per
game and holding teams to 37 percent from the field.
UNK is also getting healthier as junior guard Jenny Harle (West Des
Moines, Ia.) is set to return after missing the last seven games with a
thigh injury.
Senior center Jenny Brown (Plesanton), a transfer from Oklahoma State,
recently joined the UNK rotation after missing the last year and half
with a broken foot and broken hand.
The Lopers home stand continues this weekend when RMAC rivals Adams
State and Fort Lewis visit.
