Three Join Women's GolfYoung Loper Team
Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney head women's golf coach Mark Brosamle announced today the names of three high school seniors who will join the Lopers next year. They are Thea Baum (Norfolk Catholic H.S.), Emily Carlson (Perkins County H.S.) and Jami Melson (Kearney H.S.). UNK, with no seniors on its current roster, recently completed the 2006-07 season. At the Class C state tournament this past fall, Carlson tied for 10th place with a 179 and Baum was just a few places back with a 181. Carlson also made the 2005 state tournament with Baum part of NCHS program that won the 2005 Class C team title. Melson led KHS at the last two Class A state tournaments, shooting a 187 in 2006 and a 185 in 2005. This past season for UNK, junior Kami Hehn (Clear Lake, S.D.) led the Lopers with an 84.50 stroke average. |
