Harder Named Women's Golf CoachWayne Native; Daughter of a Coach
Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney athletic director Jon McBride announced today that Amy Harder is the Lopers' new women's head golf coach.
She replaces Mark Brosamle, who
resigned in May after leading the Lopers the last seven years.
A native of Wayne, Harder spent the past four years playing women's golf at Division I Missouri-Kansas City. She had 13 top 10 finishes for the Kangaroos and set a new school record for number of career rounds played. "Amy has been preparing her entire life to become a college golf coach. We are pleased to give her the opportunity to run a collegiate program," said McBride. "Her enthusiasm for the game of golf is contagious and should pay dividends for the Loper women's golf program." Harder was also involved with the YMCA of Kansas City the last four years, serving as assistant sport director and co-directing the Greater Kansas City golf program. During her high school days, Harder was twice Class B state runner up. Her father, Troy, is a PGA professional at the Wayne C.C and is currently the Wildcats' men's and women's head golf coach. UNK had no senior on last year's team with three Nebraska natives signing with the program in the spring. The Lopers began the fall season Sept. 10-11 with the RMAC Fall Invite # 1 at Meadowlark Hills G.C. in Kearney. |
