Women's Golf Finishes 5th in DenverHehn Has Rare Eagle
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team shot a 36-hole total of 688 to finish fifth at the RMAC Fall Invite # 2 in Lakewood, Colo. The 10-team tournament, hosted by Regis, was played at the par 72 Fox Hollow Golf Course. Nationally-ranked Western New Mexico, who won the first RMAC Invite last week at Meadowlark Hills, posted another easy victory with a 631 (316-315). Mesa State shot a 316 today to vault three spot into to second place (656). Fort Hays State was third (675) and Chadron State fourth (680). UNK had a 339 on Monday but slipped to a 349 today. After her win last week in Kearney, South Dakota senior Kami Hehn tied for eighth place with a 160 (78-82). She had one of the two eagles in the tournament, recording a three on the first hole today (par 5/455 yards). Western New Mexico's Tina Bickford and Cecilia Silfverskio of Regis tied for first (150). Also for the Lopers, Kearney freshman Jami Melson tied for 17th (170), Kearney junior Megan Marshall finished 27th (175), Central City senior Stacy Hartwig placed 34th (183) and Crofton senior Katei Zavadil came in 43rd place (196). UNK finishes its fall season in two weeks with the third RMAC Fall Invite in Alamosa, Colo. |
