Women's Golf Currently Second in ColoradoSpring Opener; Hehn Tied for 2nd Team/Player Results .... Course Stats ...
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team shot an 18-hole total of 346 and sits in second place after the first day of the Thunderwolf Invitational in Pueblo, Colo. The six-team, 36-hole tournament is hosted by Colorado State-Pueblo and being played at the par 72 Walking Stick Golf Course. UNK was to have begun the spring season two weekends ago but both the Augustana and Wayne State Tournaments were rained out. South Dakota senior Kami Hehn is in a three way for second place with an eight over par 80 (40-40). Maggie Cole of Mesa State leads the field with a 79 (38-41). Hehn's round included three birdies, a tournament high, and six pars. Kearney junior Megan Marshall had a team-best nine pars and is currently in ninth place with an 86 (44-42). Mesa State leads the team race (332) with Fort Hays State (353) and Regis (356) directly behind the Lopers. Also for UNK, Grant freshman Emily Carlson is tied for 11th (88/43-45), Kearney freshman Jami Melson is tied for 19th (92/47-45) and Norfolk freshman Thea Baum is in 29th place (101/46-55). The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday. |
