Women's Golf Fifth at RMAC ChampionshipsHehn Ties for Fourth in Final TournamentFinal Results .... Tournament Stats
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team shot a 36-hole total of 709 to finish in fifth place at the 2008 RMAC Championships in Silver City, N.M. The 11-team tournament, including non-RMAC member Western Washington, was held Saturday and Sunday at he par 72 Silver City Golf Course. UNK had rounds of 360 and 349 to come in one stroke behind Fort Hays State. Host and 19th-ranked Western New Mexico (638) won the tournament by three strokes over 17th-ranked Western Washington with Mesa State third (676). South Dakota senior Kami Hehn capped a busy week by tying for fourth place (160/84-76). After winning the Park U. Spring Invitational early last week, Hehn led the RMAC's with 23 pars. Western New Mexico had the top two finishers, led by Tina Bickford (150/73-77). Also for UNK, Kearney junior Megan Marshall tied for 24th (179/91-88), Kearney freshman Jami Melson tied for 32nd (185/93-92) and, finally, Central City senior Stacy Hartwig (187/94-93) and Grant freshman Emily Carlson (187/92-85) each tied for 36th place. Carlson led the Lopers in birdies for the tournament with two. This was UNK's final regular season tournament. |
