Women's Golf Finishes 10th in Minnesota

NSIC Fall Championships

Final Results

      Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women’s golf team shot a 36-hole total of 741 to place 10th out of 13 schools at the NSIC Championship this weekend in St. Paul, Minn.

      The tournament, held Saturday and Sunday, was held at the par 72 Hillcrest Golf Club. UNK was the only non-NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) school to take place in the tournament.

      The Lopers shot a 369 on Saturday and a 372 on Sunday. Concordia-St. Paul, playing in its hometown, won the event with a 651 (322-329). Winona State was runner up (658) and Minnesota State was third (668).

      Individually, UNK was led by Hastings freshman Sara Wissing as she tied for 20th place with a 172 (84-88).

      A three-way tie for first included KC Kane (SW Minnesota State), Carley Paulseth (Concordia-St. Paul) and Rochelle Schmidt (Upper Iowa). They each shot a 13 over par 157.

      Also for the Lopers, Kearney senior Megan Marshall tied for 36th (180/93-87), Norfolk freshman Nicole Erwin was 47th (193/95-98), Grant sophomore Emily Carlson finished 49th (196/97-99) and Norfolk sophomore Thea Baum tied for 53rd (201/102-99).

     UNK finishes the fall season next weekend in Colorado with the third RMAC Fall Invite.
