After an outstanding career, Ty Swarm is remaining with the Loper
program as a graduate assistant coach.
He will graduate in May with a degree in Physical Education and is
planning to pursue a Master’s in Sports Administration.
The Mitchell native won 84 matches in his career, ninth most in
school history. Competing at 177 and 184 lbs., he earned All-American
honors as a junior when he placed sixth in the nation. A two-time NCAA
qualifier, Swarm placed second at the RMAC/West regional last winter.
Off the mat, he was a three-time Academic All-American and Academic
All-RMAC selection.
At Mitchell High Swarm earned four letters in wrestling, football
and track. He won the Nebraska state title as a senior when he went an
impressive 33-4.
