Abbey, Dunagan Honored

            Kearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney senior guard Brian Dunagan and junior wrestler Bryce Abbey have each been named Athlete of the Week in their respective sports.

            Dunagan, from Grand Island, was named the Nebraska Division II Player of the Week for December 15^th while Abbey is the RMAC’s Wrestler of the Week.

            Dunagan had 18 points, five rebounds and three steals in the Lopers win at Mesa State last Friday night in Colorado. It marked the third straight contest he played all 40 minutes.

            Abbey, from Goodland, Kans., was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the UNK Runza Loper Open. In winning the 125 lbs. weight class, Abbey went 4-0 to improve his season mark to 16-1. The nation’s second ranked wrestler at 125 lbs., Abbey has also won three tournaments this year.
