Wrestling Rolls Over ChadronLopers Win
First Four Matches
Kearney, Neb. - The 11th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney
wrestling team evened its RMAC record at 1-1 after a 25-15 win at
19th-ranked Chadron State Friday night. UNK improves to 3-7 overall.
Like the basketball teams the night before, the
blue and gold was dominant early. UNK won the first four matches to get
out to a 19-0 lead.
Second-ranked Bryce Abbey got
things started with a major decision win at 125 lbs. and then
seventh-ranked Adam Keiswetter got a pin at 133 lbs. to
put the Loper lead at 10-0.
The True brothers, Pat
and Matt, then won at 141 and 149 lbs. to give UNK a lead CSC
wouldn't overcome.
At 197 lbs., second-ranked Jeff Rusher did get by
the Lopers Jeff Sylvester, 8-6. Sylvester, ranked 6th
at the class, had already beaten the third and fourth ranked individuals
last weekend in Ohio.
UNK begins a four match home stand next Friday
when Central Missouri State visits.
