NE The 14th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team defeated the
Colorado School of Mines wrestling team, 26-13,Thursday night at the
Health & Sports Center. The Lopers capitalized off of two forfeits by the
Colorado School of Mines, as well as two major decisions.
The Lopers improve to 5-8 on the year while CSM drops
to 0-7.
The night was kicked off by seventh ranked Adam
Keiswetter 10-2 major decision over Garrett Eller.
From then on the Lopers received two forfeits (141
lbs., and 197 lbs.) and won an additional three matches for a total of six
matches overall.
Second ranked Bryce Abbey finished the night off
with his defeat of David Lee (125 lbs.) Abbey kept the crowd at the
edge of their seat while he recorded a total of nine takedowns, three
takedowns in the first quarter, two in the second, and four in the third
quarter.
UNK hosts University of Nebraska Omaha on Saturday.
