Wrestling Coach Recognized

Bauer Cited by National Magazine

            Kearney, NE – Nebraska-Kearney head wrestling coach Marc Bauer was recently named Wrestling USA Magazine’s 2004 Nebraska “State Man-of the-Year.”

            The Montana-based magazine annually honors around 15-20 individuals throughout the country that help promote wrestling in their respective states.

            Bauer was cited for making the Lopers a top 10 program that has also won four RMAC/West region titles over the last five years. Bauer and his team also host a series of youth wrestling camps and clinics that have drawn thousands to Kearney. 

            Recent winners from Nebraska include Craig Sesker (Omaha World Herald/2003), Mike Carnes (Nebraska Wrestling Illustrated/2002) and Rex Jones (Lincoln/2001).
