Wrestling Rolls ChadronLopers Set Records Kearney, Neb. – The 4th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team had three pins, one tech fall and one major decision in a 45-0 win over Chadron State Thursday night at the Health & Sports Center. ...complete results UNK improves to 5-2 (2-0 RMAC) on the year while a very young CSC team falls to 0-2 (0-2 RMAC). The Lopers set records for largest margin of victory in an RMAC dual and most points scored in an RMAC dual. It also marks the first time that a UNK team has blanked an RMAC opponent. UNK, which now has three shutouts on the year, did this despite having to juggle its lineup as nationally-ranked starters Adam Keiswetter (133 lbs.) and Caleb Young (184 lbs.) are out with injury. Five Lopers moved up a weight class, including nationally-ranked seniors Bryce Abbey and Aaron Dalton. Also moving up a class was Mitchell sophomore Pat True. Normally at 149 lbs., True managed a 4-2 win at 157 lbs. over Matt Weingart thanks to a takedown with five seconds remaining in the third period. UNK is at the National Duals next weekend in Cleveland. Pairings for the 16-team tournament will come out early next week. |
